Liputan6.com, Jakarta The issue surrounding terrorism has become increasingly alarming as widespread of its violent conduction as well as its recruitment of followers have expanded to nations all across the globe.

Though many countries have developed what seems to be a coalition to militarily destruct the breeding ground to which the terrorist group supposedly finds sanctuary and financial source, it cannot be denied that furthering dialogues among victimized countries as well as nations that have had experiences of handling terrorism in the past should occur to discuss the most effective method for its hasty containment and eradication.

A number of Ambassadors from countries such as the United States Robert O’Blake, France Corinne Breuzé, Russia Mikhail Galuzin, were gathered in the afternoon of December 8 2015 at one of the grand function rooms of Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta to attend and yield remarks on issue surrounding ISIS and take part in the collective discussion of Foreign policy community of Indonesia (FPCI) public forum on ‘Evolving Multilateral Coalition against ISIS’.

Two Indonesian speakers, which include the Head of Indonesia’s National Counter-terrorism Agency (BNPT) Saud Usman Nasution as well as the representative of FPCI Heru Prama Yuda, were also present to explain the point of view of the archipelago state in trying to address the issue of terrorism.

The founder of the FPCI, Dino Patti Djallal was absent during the event as he is currently in Paris to represent Indonesia in tackling another global challenge, 'climate change', said Heru.

“ISIS or ISIL or ‘Daesh’ and its affiliates have carried out around 28 attacks worldwide from France to Tunisia to Libya to Turkey, to Egypt to Lebanon to Russia and recently to The United States and the casualties have reached more than one thousand lives and that is only for this year,” FPCI Program Director Heru Prama Yuda in his speech during opening of the event.

“In the wake of France attack last month, France has played a leading role in adapting and drafting the adoption of UN Security Councils on the 28 of November of 2015,which calls for nations to redouble their efforts and to coordinate in tackling ISIS,” he continued.

According to Heru, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan has also expressed the nation’s susceptibility to any act of terror that it is not ‘immune’ to such undertakings both in the past and in the coming future.

“With this challenge ahead of us in 2015,we are very blessed to have the panel that we have today, Ambassador of the United States, France and Russia and also the Head of Indonesia Counter- terrorism Agency,” he shared before introducing the background of each speaker who was there to debate over the most effective method to combat terrorism and extremist group.
