Liputan6.com, Jakarta - President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has officially announced the commencement of the 60th Asia-Africa Conference (AAC) Commemoration this morning (22/4/2015) at approximately 09.15 AM.

In front of the 2015 AAC foreign delegations, President Jokowi attempted to encourage Asian and African countries to collectively initiate the urgency for the internationally-recognized United Nations (UN) Organization to undergo reformation.

Such reformation is imperative knowing that many participating countries are still highly susceptible to conflicts, despite the agreements made between those countries and the promises being made for reconciliatory effort through the United Nations.

President Jokowi viewed the United Nations role as widely undermined and neglected.

"I am inviting my delegations from various Asian and African countries to help me push the urgency for the United Nations to be reformed as an organization so that it could function accordingly where justice can be appropriately served for all countries," President Jokowi said in his speech at the Asian-African Summit (AAS) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Wednesday (22/4/215).

The presence of hitherto remains unsolves conflicts among nations according to President Jokowi, is the ramification of the injustice treatment being placed on the currently problematic countries.

What is more disturbing in his point of view, is the likeliness for the conflict to generate civilian casualties along the way.

‎President Jokowi extended his encouragement towards foreign delegations as he reminded them, how the conflicts that have successfully dominated their countries contradict the Bandung spirit they have so proudly popularized 60 years ago.

"I am very discontented to see injustice playing a more influential role in many of our countries. It is sad to see that the Bandung Spirit that was initially designed to spur Asian and African nations collective efforts to achieve independence once and for all, greatly diminished in importance and overpowered, by the injustice served by those who only put forth their parochial interest," he continued.

With Palestine declaration of independence included in the AAC 2015 agenda, President Jokowi sets its current challenges to achieve such objective as an example of the product from a prolonged unfinished business between Palestine and Israel.

‎"We should not overlook the catastrophe Palestinians have to go through each day. We ought to continue to fight and support for its independence," President Jokowi concluded. (Akp/Tnt)
