Excitement and sorrow are felt throughout the world as events have taken place in the last seven days with each carrying its own importance at varying level: national, regional and global.

Let's have a look at those carefully selected stories that have made it through into our ‘Weekly Highlights’ headline.

In the ‘International Affairs’ section, we have two good news and one sad news.

The sad news comes from the southern city of Shenzhen, China where a deadly landslide has reportedly caused for the overturning of buildings and left dozens missing hitherto.

As for the good news, the United States President Barack Obama has just recently expressed his generous gesture of yielding clemency for 95 federal prisoners with varying charges. The other highlight of the end of this year is that Greece is finally set to recognize state of Palestine following parliamentary vote where President Mahmoud Abbas reportedly present.

In our ‘Trending Topic’ section, our eyes are all focused on the recently mistaken crowning of 2015 Miss Universe where the host Steve Harvey wrongly announced the winner for the first couple of minutes before correcting it.
