Bali Nine Duo Await for Familial Visitation

Mothers of Bali Nine Inmates eager to meet their sons and give them books as to provide consolation prior to the execution.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The mothers of the two Bali Nine inmates, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran have again visited their sons at the Besi Correctional Institution, Nusakambangan, Cilacap, Central Java. They came with books that they plan to give their sons.

The mothers came along with the families and have arrived at the location at around 08.30 am local time. As soon as they arrived, they immediately headed for the security post at the Dermaga Wijayapura and directed to the back door entrance.

Andrew Chan’s girlfriend, Febiyanti Herewila was also there to visit her lover who is currently waiting for the execution process behind the bar.

They were guided by the Australian General Consulate, Majel Hind and an Australian lawyer, Julian McMahon. Their belongings were being checked by the security guards as to assure the security there.

From the bags checked, it can be seen that the families were carrying a number books and a book for painting that will be given to Myuran. The books were being checked one by one as the security guards want to anticipate any unwanted objects that may be carried to perform illegal activity. It is the safety procedure that they ought to go through to establish assurance for the safety of everyone in the Nusakambangan Correctional Institution.

After going through the security procedures at the Dermaga Wijayapura post, the two families went to cross to Nusakambangan Island using a boat called 'compreng'. 

A number of individuals are now lined up to face the second batch of execution. These inmates are sentenced to death for a number of reasons. Most of them are captured and given the hardest capital punishment for drugs-related cases. The inmates have now been transferred to the correctional institution at Nusakambangan, Cilacap, Central Java. 

Apart from the families of the Bali Nine duo, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, the families of Rodrigo Gularte and Serge Arezki Atlaloiui also came to visit the inmates at Nusakambangan. The two inmates from brazil and France have been imprisoned in the Pasir Putih correctional institution at Nusakambangan for a few years.

Apart from the aforementioned inmates, the other inmate originating from Spain, Raheem Agbaja Salami has also been transferred to Nusakambangan from the correctional institution in Madiun, Yogyakarta. Raheem arrived shortly after the arrival of the Bali Nine duo. (Ein)
