Lizzo memimpin dengan delapan nominasi, kemudian Billie Eillish, dan Lil Nas X yang keduanya bersaing dengan enam nominasi di Grammy Awards 2020.

Untuk Grammy Awards 2020 ini Ariana Grande, H.E.R. dan Finneas O'Connell mendapat lima nominasi.

Sementara Alicia keys dua tahun berturut-turut didapuk menjadi pembawa acara Grammy Awards. Ia menjadi perempuan ketiga, serta musikus wanita pertama yang membawakan acara ini sebanyak dua kali.
