Indonesia as Guest of Honour for Frankfurt Book Fair This October

Indonesia is given the once in a lifetime opportunity as guest of honour where it can promote its culture in Germany.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesia has been named as Guest of Honour for a Book Fair in Germany. 

The annually held international event is the biggest and most popular book exhibition in the world and have a number of cultural and literature related performance from various countries being presented throughout the event.

"Indonesia has been given the Guest of Honour title for Frankfurt Book Fair. This is by far the biggest exhibition there is and such opportunity only comes once in a lifetime," Indonesian Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, Anies Baswedan informed, Wednesday (3/6/2015).

Minister Anies said that such event will be the opportunity for Indonesia to promote its culture, literature, arts, crafts and Indonesian language to worldwide audience.

"So we will have our own performing arts presenting just the best of our dancers, music, architectures, crafts and many other worth- presenting features that we have," he added.

"Germany is the main entrance into literature world. So, if Indonesia can surpass that by promoting its very best literature then it means it can compete with the legendary ones in Europe," he continued. 

President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo is equally excited to hear about such news and scheduled to head for Germany too along with Minister Anies for the event. (Akp/Ein)
