Liputan6.com, Jakarta The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has exerted all its ground force and air force power to help the evacuation process on victims of Trigana Air that reportedly crashed down to Okbape district in mountainous area of Papua after initial reports confirmed that it went missing on a Sunday (16 August 2015) afternoon.

Basarnas ground force team is the first to dispatch its personnel to perform evacuation process with reports claiming that they have departed at around 05.40 am.

"At 05.40 am, three teams of ground force departed to the site and at 07.30 am, Freeport chopper dropped down 2 personnel 1 from Freeport and the other one personnel of Indonesian Ground Force. Two pilots of TNI Air Force dropped down logistics to the site at 08.50 am," Basarnas Operational Deputy, Heronimus Guru informed, Jakarta, Tuesday (18/8/2015).

By noon, Basarnas in Timika along with the locals found 54 victims of Trigana Air crash. Heronimus said that these victims condition is too tragic to even be explained and it is acceptable knowing the fact that the plane is equally tarnished from the crash.

"We have 50 locals participating in our joint search with Basarnas, TNI and Polri to find and evacuate victims of Trigana Air. As for the condition of the victims, I must say it is unethical to be described verbally," he said. (Akp/Ein)
