Liputan6.com, Jakarta Intelligence across Europe probes over the cause of continuous failure to prevent terrorists from entering countries and conducting series of attacks in many parts of the world. According to Ibtimes.co.uk, it has been suspected that the notoriously known Islamic State group may have stolen thousands of blank passports to be exploited in smuggling its fighters into western Europe and for them to pretend to be refugees seeking sanctuary.
Citing from CNN, intelligence sources provided information to Germany’s Welt Am Sonntag, reporting that the group may have acquired the passports in areas that are currently under their control such as Syria, Iraq and Libya. Sources also claim to have been detecting the likely establishment of lucrative black market trade of stolen documents which each sold for up to 1,500 euros.

Washington Times informs that U.S intelligence officials warn over the terrorist group’s likeliness of stealing an official government passport printing machine. According to Homeland Security Investigations Intelligence Report issued, the group has reportedly been able to print “legitimate looking Syrian passports since taking over the city of Deir ez Zour last summer, home to passport office with boxes of blank passports and printing machine”.
It has been learned that in the wake of Paris attacks, two Frenchmen have been detained at a refugee camp in Austria for allegedly planning terror attacks.
