A week before the suicide, the father apologized for being unable to return the money. The police still have not found how much money that the victim borrowed. But so far, the police believed the cause was not online debt.

In recent years, there have been reports of people getting psychologically terrorized because of online debt. The messages were often sent to the borrower's family members or friends through WhatsApp.

"Until this point, the fact is his immediate family members or co-workers have never received terrorizing WA or SMS which is identical with online debt," Gandha said.
