Liputan6.com, Banjarmasin - CCTV recording went viral in Indonesia as it shows a high school student stabbing his friend in a classroom. Both students are 15-year-old freshmen in a public high school in Banjarmasin, capital of South Kalimantan Province.

The incident took place on Monday morning (31/7) as the school was starting. One student with initial A was seen entering a classroom. He walked fast to find his target, M, who sat at the back of the classroom. Without saying much, A immediately struck M a few times.

Other students looked dazed at their seats. One girl with a hijab was seen walking away. And A left the classroom.

M received four knife wounds in his body, but he survived and was sent to the hospital.

Police Commissioner Thomas Afrian of Banjarmasin Resort City Police said he received information of bullying. A is allegedly the victim.

"According to the information and interrogation from the investigators in the field, it was because of the heartache from the perpetrator in which he was often bullied by the victim," said Thomas Afrian.

Family Disagrees

The father of M, Faisal Aqli, said he has reported this case to the police. Faisal said this case must be handled with laws.

Family's lawyer has insisted that there was no bullying in this case. He uses the evidence from M's phone to see the conversation between the two high schoolers.

"Regarding the bullying victim, that can be said to be untrue, because we found the conversation between the perpetrator and victim on handphone. From the conversation since October 2022 until today, there is not a single bullying between the victim against the perpetrator, said Kurniawan, family's lawyer.

Kurniawan also said the victim's family will not settle in this case.
