Neighbors Slaughtered Man Who Abused Wife in Serang

Liputan6.com, Serang - A man fatally beaten by the neighbors after abusing his wife as well as her siblings. The incident happened on Saturday night around 19.00 in Anyer, Serang Regency, Banten Province.

Banten Province is located in the west of the capital Jakarta.

The man with initial SM (40) was reportedly battering his wife, KH (35). The siblings of the wife TJ (42) and DAS (25) who witnessed the fight attempted to separate the couple, but injured.

The wife reportedly was reportedly suffering from stab wounds on multiple parts of her bodies: back, chest, left hand, and forehead. Her head also banged to the house's wall.

Hearing the commotion, the neighbors came and eventually fatally beaten the husband. The police confirmed that the man named Sambas (his first name) died after the violence. Sambas was having rope marks on his wrists among other bruises on head and face. The autopsy is still ongoing.

"The alleged motive was the public's anger against the perpetrator's actions toward his wife and family," said Mohammad Nandar, the chief of the criminal detective unit at Resort Police (Polsek) of Cirebon, Sunday (23/10/2022).

Meanwhile, TJ was also stabbed on the chest and left hand. The younger sibling DAS was injured on the left side of the head.

The police has not been able to understand Sambas' initial motive for violence because all of the victims are still treated in the hospital in a clinic in Anyer.

However, Nandar confirmed that what happened was a domestic abuse in which SM attacked KH, TJ, and DAS.
