Liputan6.com, Jakarta The presence of internet with the availability of social media to make everything easier for people to communicate with one another may have been viewed as a positive progress towards technological advancement.

But many are still largely unaware of the notion that even such technological and virtual advancement has flaws and one among them is susceptibility to being hacked.

This is what has happened to one police officer in East Java Cinde Ary Bhakti. His Facebook account has reportedly being hacked into and exploited to facilitate expression of hate speech against Indonesian President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo. His account has been hacked since three months ago, he said.

Public Relation Officer from East Java Police Department, Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono shares the fact that the account has existed for quite some time. Around three months ago, Cinde had difficulty accessing into his account and speculated that it might have been the usual error.

“He then went to create another Facebook account and neglected the old one as he thought there was an occurrence of error that cannot be fixed,” Argo explained on Monday 28 December 2015.

Police force then informs Cinde about the fact that his Facebook account has been hacked under his name.

“We are probing over the case and we have arrested the perpetrator behind such act,” Argo further explained.

Apparently Cinde’s account has been hacked by numerous individuals and the account has been misused as the virtual place to present negative comments about President Jokowi.
