Liputan6.com, Jakarta Terrorism issue is no longer news unheard of to many people as what used to be a myth where the word or notion of ‘terror’ becoming more real than ever as time progresses. It is not merely an issue as expansion of influence can be seen growing at rapid pace and affected individuals range from exclusively- religious in appearance and attire to seemingly- normal youth who happens to exploit such misleading organization as a platform to vent their emotion.

Nations gathered in trying to collectively eradicate it once and for all through preliminary containment method as to prevent escalating exacerbation of its teachings and influence.

Indonesia has earned the status of having population with high susceptibility to such misleading influence especially after its recruitment method was done virtually or via internet as to remove barriers for potential candidates who want to recruit. Worst yet, it has been reported that those who are keen to join will be yielded the privilege in a form of funds and accommodations. Those privileges surely invited desires and therefore it may double the size of homework for intelligence agency everywhere around the world as compared to Al- Qaeda.

In the past few weeks, talks that were hotly debated began to melt down as other issues began to dominate nationwide headlines and therefore discussion about terrorism and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria momentarily, but not entirely gone. This does not necessarily mean that its influence has been hindered in the archipelago state.

Indonesian National Counter-Terrorism Agency is currently on the lookout for any potential international terrorist network that sought to introduce and expand influence within Indonesian region. They are also eager to continually spur determination among men in his department to watch out for any possibility of ISIS- related contingents to embark and make furtherance of their parochial interest. Previous alarming fact about Indonesian people joining and being recruited by ISIS have already given the nation a heartache and so intensification of prevention strategy for this particular matter is deemed important.

Head of BNPT, Saud Usman Nasution shares a story telling how the currently infamous terrorist network ISIS was built upon the international arena and therefore easier to widen its scope of influence and domination. He also informs the worrying fact that despite minimal actions evidently showed in the past several weeks, which is a paradox to the previously presented violent undertakings, it does not mean that they have stopped performing terror.

It may be even worst that they are re-energizing its army, stockpiling weapons and all war instruments in their very own personal arsenal and covertly collecting support and gaining influence to people with activities undetected and unheard of.

BNPT is ready but remains cautious of the high likeliness of ISIS members in Iraq and Syria making their way back into Indonesia carrying with it such grand scheme to terrorize the archipelago nation.

“Historically speaking, we have Jamaah Islamiyya back in the 1990s who came back from a war they proudly called as ‘jihad’ in Afghanistan with the rest of Mujahideen against the Soviet Union. As soon as they embarked on the archipelago state, scores of terrors have been conducted with reports of bombings escalated in number throughout the period of 1990s. We have to anticipate similar kind of surge of terror with the Indonesian members of ISIS likely to come and back and conduct terror in our nation,” Saud said Tuesday (3/11/2015).

In anticipating such surge of possible terror, preparations such as counter- terrorism strategy ought to be learned and collaborated with other relevant institutions. (Akp/Ein)
