Indonesian Wife Died While Husband Injured in Bangkok Explosion

Indonesian Foreign Ministry informs that there are two Indonesians one died and one wounded from the explosion on Monday in Bangkok.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno LP Marsudi informs that one Indonesian has become one among many victims from the fatal explosion which occurred on Monday (17/8/2015) evening in front of the Hindu shrine situated at the hear of Bangkok city, Thailand.

Many died in the scene, whereas the rest followed such pathway after a series of effort done to make their way to nearby hospital.

"As investigation is currently underway, local officials inform the likeliness of 1 Indonesian fatally wounded to death by such incident and the body is now securely stored at police hospital," Minister Retno said, Tuesday (18/8/2015).

Indonesian who died due to the blast is reported to have been a female. Her husband was also seriously injured from the blast but managed to stay alive.

"The husband recorded to be 61 years of age. His wife died at the same age and currently stored at local police hospital," Minister Retno explained.

Indonesian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Arrmanatha Nasir said that the Indonesian embassy in Thailand would continue to exert its effort in search of any other Indonesian that might be victimized from the fatal incident.

"Indonesian embassy in Bangkok sought for other potential victims from Indonesia," Arrmanatha informed Liputan6.com.

As the clock strikes 07.00 on a Monday evening, a blast shook the heart of city of Bangkok. Moments later, officials confirm the bomb to have been set to explode in front of a Hindu shrine situated in the heart of busy city.

Currently there is a contending view upon how and where the bomb was planted prior to its explosion.

One side believes that it came from a motorcycle that went through the area moments before the explosion occurred and another view relies on the perception that it was planted under a chair. (Akp/Ein)
